Intake Special Education Advocate

The Arc of Cumberland & Perry Counties (CPARC) is seeking a full-time Intake Special Education Advocate to work out of the main office in Carlisle. CPARC is a private non-profit organization that provides services to individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families.

• Will work with individuals, groups, families and the general public in areas such as education, legislation and community services to ensure the rights of people with intellectual disabilities.
• Act as the initial contact person for individuals interested in advocacy services.
• Identifies key issues to determine needed supports and type of advocacy services needed.
• Assists individuals and families in completing intake documentation.

• Provides outreach efforts in the two-county area.

Associates Degree in a related field with two years experience, or High School Diploma (or its equivalent) with four years of experience. Experience working within the special education process is highly desirable.

This position starts at $19.50 per hour working 40 hours per week.
