What You’ll Be Doing
An employee in this role will assist the Development and the Acquisitions Department with various tasks related to new project acquisition activities including research, analysis, management of existing data management systems, tracking of key dates, engaging and managing third party consultants, and other activities as assigned by the Senior Development Manager.
Additionally, your tasks will include, but not be limited to:
- Support the evaluation, underwriting, and acquisition of affordable multifamily housing opportunities, including project scoring, financing research, site analysis, due diligence, and preparation of materials for investment review.
- Conduct market, property, and site research to evaluate prospective developments, including comparable rents and sales, amenities, demographics, absorption, competitive pipelines, opportunity-area designations, transit access, school data, hazard overlays, and other relevant site characteristics.
- Coordinate key aspects of the acquisition and due diligence process, including LOIs and PSAs, transaction milestones, contingency periods, deposits, closing requirements, and third-party reports such as appraisals, market studies, environmental assessments, surveys, geotechnical reports, and capital needs assessments.
- Support project underwriting, budgeting, and financing activities by coordinating operating expense assumptions, insurance quotes, project cost and SOV information, financing sources, and other documentation required throughout the acquisition and development process.
- Maintain accurate and timely project, acquisition, and pipeline information within DealPath, Project Workbooks, Yardi Matrix, and other internal systems to support reporting, decision-making, and visibility into active and prospective development opportunities.
- Coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, architects, lenders, syndicators, attorneys, sellers, agencies, and other project partners to advance acquisition and development activities, resolve outstanding items, and keep projects progressing toward established milestones.
- Prepare and coordinate presentations, reports, marketing materials, and project information packages for executive leadership, prospective buyers, financing agencies, municipalities, and other stakeholders, clearly communicating project strategy, market positioning, and key development considerations.
- Support the broader acquisition and development lifecycle, including architectural selection, entitlements and permitting, tax credit and bond application tracking, regulatory research, site tours and agency meetings, while identifying opportunities to improve processes and established SOPs
What You’ll Need to Perform the Role
- Bachelor’s degree in real estate, business, finance, economics, public administration, community development, planning, or a related field, plus at least two years of relevant experience in affordable housing, community development, urban planning, finance, or real estate development; an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
- Knowledge of affordable multifamily housing and the real estate development process, with a genuine interest in building a career within the affordable housing industry.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong time-management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Proactive, resourceful, and solutions-oriented, with strong research and problem-solving skills, sound independent judgment, personal accountability, and the ability to adapt effectively to changing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders, handle confidential information with integrity, and proficiently use Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Hiring Range
Salary of $27.00-$32.00/hr, depending on qualifications.
The pay range for this position starts as listed in the job posting but may change based on education and experience. Final compensation is determined by various factors, such as education, training, experience, work location, required travel (if any), and external market conditions. In addition to salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, 401(k), paid time off including a generous holiday schedule.
