Our commitment to pioneering medical advancements is showcased through our state-of-the-art outpatient surgery centers and full-service clinics.  DISC Surgery Center is seeking a full-time Operating Room RN for our Carlsbad location. This position will have a Monday - Friday schedule. Experience with Orthopedic and spinal procedures is required. In this position, you will:  Conduct thorough preoperative assessments to gather patient history, identify potential risks, and ensure proper preparation for surgery.  Serve as the patient advocate throughout the surgical experience, ensuring effective communication and addressing patient concerns.  Collaborate with the surgical team to develop and implement a comprehensive plan for each procedure, ensuring proper equipment, supplies, and instrumentation are available.  Scrub and circulate during surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile field and providing continuous patient monitoring.  Administer medications and assist the anesthesia team as needed.  Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team to facilitate a smooth and efficient operation.  Accurately document all aspects of the surgical process, including patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.  Adhere to strict infection control protocols to maintain a safe and sterile surgical environment.  Monitor patients during the immediate postoperative period, providing post-anesthesia care and managing any complications that may arise.  Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists, to ensure seamless patient care.  Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers.  Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the enhancement of patient outcomes and safety protocols.  QualificationsTo ensure success in this role, you must have:  Active CA RN License  Current BLS and ACLS certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire  2-3 years of OR experience in acute care or surgery center  To stand out as an applicant, we would prefer:  CNOR certification  Knowledge in Pain, Spine, and/or Orthopedic procedures   Pre-Op and Post Op experience  PALS certification    Pay Range: $55.00 - $65.00/hour    Why Should You Work Here:  Nationally Recognized Surgeons: Join a team of surgeons with national recognition in the fields of spine and sports medicine.  Leader in Spine and Sports Medicine: Be part of an organization that leads the way in advancements in spine and sports medicine.  Opportunity for Growth: Experience professional growth in a dynamic and growing healthcare environment.  Work-Life Balance: No weekends, no holidays, and the same team every day.    DISC Surgery Center is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex including sexual orientation and gender identity, national origin, disability, protected Veteran Status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
