The Scheduler is responsible for transforming planned maintenance work into executable schedules, ensuring the right resources, materials, and priorities are aligned for safe, efficient, and effective maintenance execution. This role is critical in minimizing downtime, optimizing asset reliability, and supporting continuous improvement in maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities
• Maintain and regularly review the schedule-ready backlog to ensure all work orders are fully prepared for scheduling.
• Work closely with Planners to confirm job packages are complete, materials are available, and all prerequisites are met.
• Identify and resolve issues or bottlenecks that may delay scheduling.
• Ensure all required documentation, approvals, and safety measures are in place prior to scheduling.
• Develop, publish, and communicate weekly and daily maintenance schedules.
• Assign work orders to appropriate crews, balancing resource availability, operational priorities, and work criticality.
• Sequence tasks to minimize operational disruptions and maximize crew efficiency.
• Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate emergent work, resource changes, or operational constraints.
• Communicate scheduled work, changes, and priorities to maintenance teams and stakeholders.
• Track progress and follow up on outstanding or delayed work.
• Review completed work orders for accuracy and completeness before closure, ensuring all confirmations and documentation are received.
• Build, maintain, and update preventive maintenance (PM) and turnaround plans in the system.
• Schedule PM activities in compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
• Coordinate with operations and other departments for major shutdowns or turnarounds.
• Generate, analyze, and distribute scheduling reports and KPIs, such as schedule compliance, backlog status, and resource utilization.
• Use data insights to identify trends, drive improvements, and support decision-making.
• Participate in regular meetings to review performance and discuss process optimization opportunities.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance scheduling 
effectiveness and efficiency.
• Stay current with best practices in maintenance scheduling and asset management.


Skills & Qualifications
• Proficient in SAP or similar EAM/CMMS systems
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities; skilled at managing multiple priorities and deadlines
• Strong analytical skills for backlog management, scheduling, and KPI reporting
• Effective communicator and collaborator with planners, maintenance teams, 
operations, and other stakeholders
• Adaptable and responsive to changing priorities and emergent work
• Solid understanding of maintenance processes, preventive maintenance, and asset management best practices
• Dedicated to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement

Education:
• High School Diploma/General Education Diploma (GED)/Higher Secondary education and/or commensurate work experience is required.
