Facility Worker - First Shift

Location: Carlstadt, NJ
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week

Start Time: 6am
Pay: starting at $16.60 per hour (plus OT after 40)

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable Facilities Worker team member to support the cleanliness, safety, and sanitation of our warehouse and facility. This position plays an important role in maintaining a clean and safe work environment while helping ensure the warehouse remains compliant with food safety and sanitation requirements.

The Facilities Worker will be responsible for cleaning warehouse aisles, product slots, break rooms, offices, restrooms, and outdoor areas. The position also responds to warehouse spills and damaged-product cleanup and may operate equipment such as electric floor scrubbers and motorized pallet jacks.

This is an active, hands-on position that requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain warehouse aisles and product slots.
• Safely pull product from slots using a pallet jack and clean slots using appropriate cleaning supplies and an electric floor scrubber.
• Assist with inventory checks and product replenishment when necessary during slot cleaning.
• Respond to warehouse spill calls and promptly clean spills, damaged product, broken cases, pallets, and debris.
• Clean warehouse racking and individual product slots as needed.
• Sweep and mop floors in restrooms, break rooms, offices, and other facility areas.
• Clean restroom fixtures and maintain adequate supplies of paper towels, toilet paper, and other necessary items.
• Empty trash throughout the warehouse, office, and facility.
• Maintain cleanliness of outdoor trash and disposal areas.
• Clean and maintain exterior warehouse entrances and surrounding grounds as needed.
• Collect and separate recyclable materials, including plastic, wood, cardboard, and other materials.
• Follow all company sanitation, cleaning, food safety, and safety procedures.
• Properly read and follow labels and instructions for cleaning products and hazardous materials.
• Safely operate assigned custodial and warehouse equipment after appropriate training.

• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.
• Previous warehouse or food facility experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.

Work Environment

• Work is primarily performed in a warehouse and facility environment.
• Employees may be required to work in refrigerated Cooler and Freezer areas, including exposure to cold temperatures for portions of the workday.
• Proper safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) are required. Steel-toed boots are required where applicable.
• Employees may be exposed to warehouse equipment, pallets, cleaning chemicals, and other normal warehouse conditions.
• Standard schedule is Monday–Friday, approximately 40 hours per week; however, evening, night, weekend, and overtime hours may be required depending on branch and business needs.
