The Technology Services Coordinator is a customer and education-focused IT role that serves as the primary contact for resident technology support and staff technical training. This position works closely with the Community Technology Engineer to address staff technology needs and collaborates with Central IT leadership on operational technology and project support. It develops and delivers educational programs for residents and staff to promote digital literacy and best practices for using Covenant Living systems. The role also provides audio/visual support for community events, ensuring equipment is properly set up and functioning. In addition, this position plays an active role in project management by assisting with planning, coordination, and execution of technology initiatives within the community.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Residents and Staff Technology Training

  • Facilitate workshop sessions to cover a range of technical subjects, designed to address the evolving needs. These workshops can include hands-on training, Q&A sessions, and demonstrations of new technologies or updates.
  • Assist in Staff onboarding assistance through structured IT training, ensuring that everyone is equipped with the knowledge needed to utilize community technology systems effectively.

Provide Resident Technology Support

  • Primary provider of in-home technology services to schedule and conduct resident appointments to deliver personalized, one-on-one assistance. This includes helping including device setup, Wi-Fi configuration and troubleshooting, streaming service setup, account access support, and help with email, video calling, smart home devices, online safety, digital health tools, photo management, social media, software updates, online transactions, accessibility features, and other technology-related needs.
  • Develop and deliver educational presentations aimed at informing residents and staff about common technology topics and best practices.
  • Lead weekly Resident Technology Concierge sessions, offering brief, in-person support for basic IT needs.
  • As a member of the Resident Technology Committee, you will actively gather and incorporate resident feedback to enhance technology services within the community. Your input will help shape future initiatives and improve overall satisfaction.
  • The position includes providing community-wide AV support, ensuring that audio-visual equipment in common areas and event spaces is functional and ready for use.

Provide Basic IT Support for Staff

  • Assist the Community Technology Engineer (or larger IT team) with basic IT support tickets for staff addressing issues such as Microsoft office application questions, mobile device issues, login problems, password resets, printer malfunctions, staff equipment replacement deployment, wi-fi connectivity issues, user education providing quick tips or guidance and any other basic technology support needs.

Provide Operational and Project Assistance

  • Collaborate with the Community Technology Engineer – Regional Lead, Community Technology Engineer and Central Office IT to assist in IT project deployments, supporting the implementation of new systems, upgrades, and technology initiatives within your community and nearby locations.
  • Provide Operational support assistance for Community, including managing hardware orders, inventory tracking, and overseeing recycling efforts to maintain proper asset management. This ensures that resources are used efficiently and responsibly, supporting both operational needs and sustainability goals.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Required Degree: N/A
  • Preferred Degree: Equivalent Experience
  • Preferred Certificate(s): A+ Certification preferred
  • Experience:
    • 0-1+ years’ related experience, in a technical IT services position.
    • Experience in teaching technology to non-technical audiences.
    • Experience working in a senior living facility or with older adults is preferred.
    • Project support experience (assisting with deployments, upgrades, or technology rollout).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Excellent customer service skills and a desire to maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Basic Knowledge of PC hardware, Windows OS’s, Apple Products, printers and networking.
  • Basic technology abilities to work effectively with a wide range of equipment and technologies.
  • Ability to keep up with trends, changing technologies, and best practices, and effectively implement ever changing new technologies.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct oversight.
  • Ability to effectively complete required documentation activities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, climb, crawl and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
  • Light to moderate lifting may be required.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required.
  • Clarity of Vision:
    • For near visual acuity Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less (i.e., working with small objects or reading small print), including use of computers.
    • For far visual acuity, Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more. This is not just the ability to see a person or object, but the ability to recognize features as well.
    • For peripheral vision, observing an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point.

Compensation Pay Range:

$32.36 - $40.79 per hour

Reasonable Pay Estimate

A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $32.36 - $40.79 per hour. There are numerous factors taken into consideration in determining the actual offered rate of pay, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, experience, skills, education, geographic location, and consideration of internal and external equity.
