We are seeking an experienced Shipping & Receiving Supervisor to lead daily shipping and receiving operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for ensuring the accurate, timely, and cost-effective movement of materials and finished goods while supporting production schedules and customer delivery requirements.

Reporting to the Materials Manager, the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor will lead the Shipping and Receiving team and work closely with Production, Planning, Inventory/Warehouse, Quality, Customer Service, and Purchasing to ensure efficient material flow throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily shipping and receiving operations, including scheduling, workload balancing, training, coaching, and employee development.
  • Ensure accurate receipt, documentation, inspection, and ERP/MRP transactions for incoming materials.
  • Coordinate outbound shipments to meet customer delivery schedules and contractual requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with customer-specific packaging, labeling, documentation, and routing requirements.
  • Coordinate with carriers and manage freight activities while supporting cost-effective transportation solutions.
  • Maintain shipping documentation, including packing lists, bills of lading, export documentation, and customer-required certifications.
  • Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, receiving issues, freight claims, and customer shipment concerns.
  • Monitor shipping performance, dock efficiency, freight costs, and on-time delivery metrics.
  • Partner with the Inventory/Warehouse Supervisor to support efficient material movement and inventory accuracy.
  • Maintain safe, organized, and efficient work areas using Lean and 5S principles.
  • Support physical inventories, inventory control initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of shipping, receiving, logistics, or warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment; EMS experience preferred.
  • 2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems for inventory and shipping/receiving transactions.
  • Associate degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles preferred.
