Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct production team members during assigned shift to meet or exceed production targets.
  • Monitor workflow, assign tasks, and manage employee performance to ensure adherence to production schedules.
  • Enforce safety policies and ensure a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
  • Conduct shift start-up meetings to communicate goals, changes, and safety topics.
  • Train, mentor, and coach production staff on processes, equipment, and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and escalate concerns to appropriate departments as needed.
  • Ensure proper documentation and submission of production data, reports, and PTO requests.
  • Collaborate with other Production Leads and Supervisors to ensure smooth transitions between shifts.
  • Promote and support continuous improvement initiatives in productivity, quality, and safety.
  • Assist with scheduling and workforce planning based on production demands.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of production processes, equipment, and safety standards.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret production documents, and blueprints.
  • Basic computer proficiency (e.g., MS Office, Workday and Epicor experience preferred).
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and overtime, if required.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills, strong math skills, and a positive attitude.
  • Proficiency in reading and using tape measures.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Adherence to all safety policies and protocols.
  • Lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience preferred.
  • Forklift certification

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 20-60 pounds on a continual basis.
  • Ability to safely operate various hand tools including saws and drills.
  • Ability to stand and walk on concrete for up to 10 hours a day.
  • Regular exposure to manufacturing environment including noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

The Production Lead is responsible for overseeing daily operations in their designated areas on the production floor during their assigned shift. This role ensures that production goals are met safely, efficiently, and with the highest quality standards. The Production Lead acts as the primary point of contact for production team members and collaborates with other departments (such as Maintenance, Shipping and Receiving, and Human Resources) to support continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Second shift is Monday through Thursday, 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM.
