Job DetailsJob Location: Carrollton , TX 75006Position Type: Full TimeTravel Percentage: NoneJob Category: DesignEXALT PRINTING SOLUTIONS Production Artist On-Site — Carrollton, TX | Full-Time We give a sheet. Do you? At Exalt, “close enough” isn’t a print spec. We’re looking for a Production Artist who lives for clean layouts, hates a stretched logo with their whole chest, and can turn “the client sent us three mismatched Word docs and a screenshot” into something polished, on-brand, and ready to print. If that sounds like your kind of Tuesday, keep reading. The Job, Basically You’re the person standing between “what the client handed us” and “what actually looks good.” That might mean laying out and editing text in a 40-page patient guide, cleaning up an HR form nobody’s touched since 2019, or making sure a client’s flyer actually matches the brand standards they swear they have (they do - you’ll find them). You’ll also build and maintain the templates that live inside our client storefronts and catalogs, so ordering stays effortless for them and error-free for us. This isn’t from-scratch design work, and it isn’t prepress (we’ve got a dedicated pro who handles imposition to the Indigos) - it’s the layout, editing, and templating work that happens in between. What You'll Actually Do • Take client-submitted files and clean them up, edit them, or rebuild the layout so they’re production-ready • Lay out and edit text-heavy documents such as patient guides, HIM forms, training manuals, and product   catalogs - for clarity, consistency, and correct formatting • Match client design/brand standards so their materials don’t look like they were made by three different   people (even when the source files suggest otherwise) • Build and maintain templates within our storefront catalogs so clients can order consistent, on-brand   materials without needing a design degree • Catch the small stuff - kerning, alignment, orphaned words, wrong shade of blue - before it becomes   everyone’s problem • Take completed layouts and hand them off clean to prepress for final production - no back-and-forth   needed if the file’s done right the first time Compensation & Benefits $48,000–$55,000/year, based on experience. • Health insurance • Dental and vision insurance • 401(k) • Paid time off and paid holidays QualificationsWhat You Bring • Strong layout and copyediting instincts - you can take messy text and make it read clean and look intentional • Solid working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign especially - you’ll live in it) • An eye sharp enough to spot a font substitution from across the room • Ability to follow brand guidelines to the letter, even when your own taste says otherwise • Comfort managing multiple projects and file versions without losing your mind (or the file) Bonus Points (Not Dealbreakers) • Experience with Docket Manager, PageDNA, or similar print MIS/order management platforms • Familiarity with ecommerce platforms such as Wix, Shopify, or WooCommerce/WordPress • A high tolerance for last-minute copy changes and a low tolerance for widow lines Why Exalt No corporate fluff, no egos, and no fifteen layers of approval to fix a typo. We’re an independently owned print shop in Carrollton that moves fast, works hands-on, and gives people the opportunity to work across a lot more than one type of project. You’ll touch print, promo, apparel, signage, and everything in between - and your work will end up in hospitals, airports, offices, and businesses across the country.
