As a Regional Master Field Controls Engineer, you will play a critical role in executing large-scale, mission-critical building automation projects across the Western Region of the USA. This position operates at a regional level, supporting multiple branches and high-profile projects, including data centers and complex commercial installations.

Unlike a traditional branch-based role, this position requires flexibility and mobility, with assignments across Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Colorado, Washington, and Nevada based on project demand.

Travel: 75% plus (Project-Based)

Key Responsibilities

  • Initiate, install, troubleshoot, and optimize building automation systems utilizing advanced Direct Digital Control (DDC) technology
  • Lead field execution on complex and high-visibility projects, including commissioning and startup activities
  • Serve as the technical expert in the field, resolving complex system issues and driving solutions
  • Ensure proper operation of controls systems, including controllers, sensors, and software platforms
  • Load and commission software, configure alarms, trends, and system graphics
  • Provide on-site leadership during critical phases such as first-of-kind startups, integration, and customer demonstrations
  • Mentor and train less experienced Field Control Engineers, helping elevate overall team capability
  • Act as a key point of contact for customers, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Document system performance, commissioning activities, and project status

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of experience in Building Automation, HVAC controls, or data centers  
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of DDC systems, controls hardware, and integration
  • Experience with ALC platforms (WebCTRL preferred)
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and resolve issues independently
  • Experience supporting data center or mission-critical environments
  • Strong understanding of commissioning processes (L3–L5 preferred)
  • Proven leadership experience mentoring field teams
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings

Pay Range

The annual salary for this position is between $79,000.00 - $158,000.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.

Other Compensation

This position may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
