Our Senior Electrical Engineer defines the electrical system architecture and standardizes end-to-end customizable cabling solutions. The role produces complete engineering documentation, estimates and quotes, ensures UL/NEC/IEC compliance, drives BOM accuracy and cost optimization, leads NPI technical deliverables, and serves as the SME for cabling, wiring, and testing—supporting manufacturability, reliability, and scalable product execution while working closely with cross-functional partners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Own electrical system architecture and develop customizable cabling solutions and assemblies including but not limited to power distribution, control/signal cabling, safety circuits, grounding/shielding, wiring to ensure performance, safety, and manufacturability • Develop accurate estimates and quotes for new opportunities by incorporating labor, component, and consumable costs into end-to-end project assessments, working closely with Sourcing and Product Management team
• Produce complete engineering documentation (schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, interconnects, 2D/3D CAD models) and maintain internal standards; specify electrical/electromechanical components.
• Troubleshoot product issues, perform root-cause analysis, implement durable corrective actions, and apply DFMEA/PFMEA to identify risks early and develop effective mitigations • Ensure compliance with UL, NEC, IEC, and internal requirements; translate standards into design and validation practices.
• Set and improve internal engineering standards for cabling, wiring methods, component selection, and documentation quality.
• Maintain accurate BOMs and drive part rationalization, SKU reduction, and cost optimization to support profitability.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams (Manufacturing, Operation, Quality, Supply chain) to clarify requirements and resolve technical issues.
• Serve as the SME for cabling technologies, electrical integration, testing methods that ensure performance, environmental, and reliability requirements, and wiring best practices.
• Execute projects end-to-end, ensuring technical accuracy, on-time delivery, and alignment with business needs; coordinate cross-functionally for scalability and manufacturability.
• Lead NPI technical contributions from concept through validation, release, and manufacturing readiness
• Drive continuous improvement—identify and close process gaps
• Qualify and manage supplier components, raw materials and finished good assemblies
• Own technical content of ECNs and ensure complete, accurate release packages.
• Provide input on tooling, fixtures, and testing methodologies for cable assembly to enable automation and support manufacturing equipment strategy

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 5+ years experience in electrical system cabling design
• Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations: A valid driver’s license.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical and business information and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Computer Applications Skills: SAP MRP, Ability to work in a Windows environment, to work with your department’s business applications and with standard current computer applications. Proficient in MS Access and Excel
