Environmental Protection Services (EPS) is seeking an experienced Master Diesel
Mechanic to lead our maintenance operations and keep our fleet running safely,
efficiently, and reliably.
This is more than a mechanic position, we're looking for a hands-on leader who can
manage the shop, schedule repairs, oversee preventative maintenance, and build a
culture of accountability. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with diesel
engines, hydraulics, street sweepers, heavy equipment, trailers, and light-duty fleet
vehicles.

Our fleet includes street sweepers, water trucks, dump trucks, pickups, trailers, skid
steers, forklifts, generators, and various construction equipment.
Primary Responsibilities
ï‚· Manage all day-to-day shop operations.
ï‚· Schedule and prioritize fleet maintenance and repairs.
ï‚· Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, hydraulic systems,
electrical systems, and heavy equipment.
ï‚· Maintain and repair street sweepers, water trucks, dump trucks, trailers, pickups,
and support equipment.
ï‚· Prefect and manage a preventative maintenance program for the entire fleet.
ï‚· Coordinate outside vendors, warranty repairs, and specialty services when
necessary.
ï‚· Maintain accurate repair records, service schedules, and maintenance
documentation.
ï‚· Order parts and manage shop inventory while controlling costs.
ï‚· Ensure equipment is inspected, repaired, and returned to service promptly.
ï‚· Work closely with Operations to minimize equipment downtime.
ï‚· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
ï‚· Assist with roadside repairs and emergency service calls when necessary.
ï‚· Mentor and train additional mechanics as the department grows.
Qualifications
ï‚· 7+ years of diesel mechanic experience.
ï‚· Previous experience managing or leading a maintenance shop preferred.
ï‚· Extensive experience with:
o Diesel engines
o Hydraulic systems
o Electrical diagnostics
o Air brake systems
o PTO systems
o Heavy equipment
o Street sweepers (Schwarze, Elgin, Tymco, etc.) preferred
o Water trucks and construction equipment
o Ford, Chevrolet, and Dodge fleet pickups
ï‚· Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
ï‚· Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
ï‚· Valid driver's license required.
ï‚· CDL Class A or B preferred (or willingness to obtain).
