About the Role

As a Production Expeditor at Rocket EMS, you will play a critical role in ensuring that materials, work orders, and assemblies move smoothly and on time through the manufacturing process. You’ll coordinate between production, materials, and engineering teams to resolve shortages, clear bottlenecks, and maintain on-time delivery for customer orders. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Review daily production schedules and work order priorities; identify potential delays or shortages.

  • Track and expedite materials, kits, and assemblies through SMT, through-hole, test, and final assembly areas.

  • Communicate with production leads, supervisors, and planners to resolve issues impacting schedule adherence.

  • Coordinate with the materials team to locate, request, or substitute parts as needed to prevent downtime.

  • Provide daily status updates to supervisors and program managers on critical work orders.

  • Escalate shortages, quality holds, or process bottlenecks that threaten delivery commitments.

  • Assist in maintaining accurate WIP visibility by updating travelers, ERP systems, and status boards.

  • Support engineering and NPI builds by ensuring required materials and documentation are in place.

  • Follow all ESD, safety, and quality policies while handling materials and assemblies.

  • Recommend and support continuous improvements in material flow and scheduling efficiency.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).

  • Additional coursework in supply chain, manufacturing, or business preferred.

Experience

  • 1–2 years of experience in electronics manufacturing, materials, or production control.

  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and work order tracking in a manufacturing environment.

Skills

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with operators, leads, engineers, and managers.

  • Basic knowledge of PCB assembly processes (SMT, through-hole, test, final assembly).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to quickly identify schedule risks.

  • Comfortable working under tight deadlines.

Pay Range
$20—$25 USD
