ABOUT SLATE
At Slate, we’re building safe, reliable vehicles that people can afford, personalize and love—and doing it here in the USA as part of our commitment to reindustrialization. The spirit of DIY and customization runs throughout every element of a Slate, because people should have control over how their trucks look, feel, and represent them.
Who we are looking for:
We are looking for an eCommerce Merchandising Specialist with a customer-first approach to help expand our accessory, wrap, and merchandise product catalog for Slate Auto. Reporting to the eCommerce Merchandising Lead, you will execute the digital shelf strategy day to day: building out product content in our PIM, coordinating digital assets, and getting new products live on time and accurate. You will work closely with the digital, design, marketing, commercial, and product teams to showcase our accessories, wraps, and merchandise in compelling, conversion-driven ways. You must be able to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment where your work shows up in the storefront the day it ships, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities.
What you get to do:
Execute the merchandising strategy across the ecommerce experience, keeping product storytelling consistent and on-brand on every page you touch.
Maintain the accessory, wrap, and merchandise catalog in Akeneo, our primary PIM, and flag gaps in data quality and consistency as you find them.
Apply the field-level standards that govern our digital shelf: title formats, character limits, required attributes, and image specs. Hold your own work to them.
Work with product managers across accessories, wraps, and merchandise to gather the catalog inputs each launch needs.
Own the hands-on work of product setup and launch: data entry, digital asset coordination, and getting SKUs live on schedule.
QA English and Spanish product content for accuracy (translation service is in place).
Leverage AI to maximize efficiency and output quality across catalog tasks, documentation, and content review.
Build and update product pages, collection layouts, and featured placements to support go-to-market moments, launches, and seasonal pushes.
Pull and report on product performance data (traffic, engagement, conversion), flagging what's working and what isn't.
Log site issues and improvement ideas for UX and engineering, with the detail they need to act on them.
Travel between Slate office sites (5–10% average) to support team and project work.
Have a lot of fun working on a dynamic and engaging team with a seat at the table.
What you bring to the team:
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
3–5 years in ecommerce merchandising, catalog management, or product content operations.
Experience owning a product category or workstream end-to-end with light oversight.
Hands-on experience in a PIM or CMS. Akeneo is our primary PIM and is preferred, but we'll train the right person on it.
Comfortable with variant-heavy catalogs across hard goods and soft goods: vehicle fitment, colorways, and size/color grids.
You follow SOPs closely and speak up when one needs fixing.
Serious attention to detail, and comfort with high-volume structured data work.
Organized self-starter who juggles competing deadlines and asks good questions early.
Familiarity with Claude AI, Cowork, or Claude Code is a plus.
Excellent communicator who works easily across creative, technical, and commercial teams.
Strong in Excel and familiar with Google Analytics, Looker, or similar reporting tools.
Passion for consumer products and an eye for how product presentation influences purchase behavior.
