Job Summary

The Plumbing Service Technician II is a mid-level role responsible for independently performing complex plumbing service, repair, and maintenance tasks in commercial and multi-family residential environments. This technician demonstrates solid plumbing knowledge, professional communication with clients, and ensures all work is performed in compliance with applicable plumbing codes, safety standards, and company policies.


Key Responsibilities Include: (But not limited to the following) 

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and fixtures in commercial buildings and multi-family housing units.
  • Install and replace piping systems, water heaters, fixtures, pumps, valves, and backflow prevention devices.
  • Conduct advanced troubleshooting of drainage systems, water supply lines, and mechanical plumbing components.
  • Utilize specialized tools and equipment, including sewer cameras, jetting machines, and pipe locators.
  • Interpret and work from construction drawings, blueprints, and job specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, and ensure job sites are left in a safe condition.
  • Mentor and assist Plumbing Technician I team members or apprentices on proper techniques and procedures.
  • Provide accurate and timely documentation of service reports, work orders, and parts usage.
  • Ensure compliance with local plumbing codes, OSHA safety standards, and company protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, property managers, and internal teams regarding job status and recommendations.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergency service calls after hours, as required.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience in plumbing (commercial or multi-family setting preferred).
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Proficient in using plumbing hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and service software (where applicable).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work at heights, and in confined or elevated spaces.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Must be dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Journeyman license or in process of obtaining plumbing licensure.
  • Familiarity with local plumbing codes and regulations.
  • Experience with drain cleaning equipment, jetting, and camera inspections.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • OSHA 10/30 or safety training certifications.
  • Experience with high-efficiency commercial water heating systems, booster pumps, or hydronic heating.


Work Environment: (But not limited to the following)

  • Job involves exposure to indoor and outdoor environments, sometimes in extreme weather conditions.
  • Frequent travel between job sites.
  • Exposure to noise, dust, varying weather conditions, and physically demanding tasks.
