Our client is seeking a Medical Director to provide clinical leadership for an inpatient substance use disorder treatment program. This role is responsible for overseeing medical services, ensuring regulatory compliance, supervising providers, and supporting high-quality patient care.


Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Oversee medical care, treatment planning, and clinical operations.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with substance use disorders.
  • Prescribe and monitor medication-assisted treatment (MAT).
  • Collaborate with psychiatric and multidisciplinary care teams.
  • Ensure compliance with state and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and maintain medical policies and clinical protocols.
  • Supervise Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff development.
 

Qualifications:

 

  • MD or DO with an active New York State medical license.
  • DEA registration and OPRA certification.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with substance use disorder populations.
  • Prior medical leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
  • Ability to obtain Addiction Medicine Board Certification within 4 years of hire.
 

Preferred Skills:

 

  • Experience in addiction medicine, detoxification, or behavioral health.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of healthcare compliance and quality improvement practices.
  • Experience with EMR systems and healthcare technology.
