WORK LOCATION, SCHEDULE, and TRAVEL
- Position is located in Euharlee, Georgia
- This position will require a mix of both office and onsite field work
- Relocation assistance may be provided if the successful candidate does not currently live within a reasonable commute distance.

JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for providing structural engineering design and project management services for Georgia Powerās Bowen Generating Plant on capital and retrofit projects.Ā The successful candidate will have the opportunity to perform structural design on small to medium scale projects at Plant Bowen.
Ā
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Produce and check structural design calculations and drawings
- Multi-task and prioritize multiple project assignments to meet tight project commitment datesĀ
- Effectively communicate with Supervisor, project team and Plant contacts
- Develop scope and man-hour estimate for assigned projects
- Provide schedule and staffing input for projects
- Prepare cost estimates andĀ material takeoffs
- Provide engineering support at Plant Bowen throughout all phases of the project

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Bachelor of Science Degree (BS) in Civil or Structural EngineeringĀ from an ABET accredited program
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license in state of Alabama, Mississippi or Georgia or able to obtain one via registration by comity
Ā
Work Experience:
Senior-Level:
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in structural design and/or plant experience related to power generation or other heavy industrial industry.
- Significant project design and execution experience
- Significant experience in production of contract documents (drawings & specifications) for industrial projects
Ā
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- DetailedĀ knowledge of structural steel and concrete design principles and industry methodologies
- High level of initiative and the ability to effectively plan, organize and execute multiple projects
- Working knowledge of Plant facilities and projects for heavy industrial structures and components
- Proficiency with structural codes and standards such as ACI 318, AISC 9th, 13thĀ , 14th and/or 15th Edition, ASCE 7 and IBC
- Experience using design software and computer programs such as STAAD PRO, Ansys, Navisworks, AutoCAD, SP Mats, etc.
- Good communication skills and ability to build and maintain strong relationships is a must
- Strong problem solving andĀ decision-making abilities
