Xylem is seeking a Senior Field Service Technician to join our team supporting customers throughout Southern Illinois, Indiana, and Tennessee.You can either be based in Carterville, IL, OR Evansville, IL, OR Nashville, TN

In this role, you'll be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and commissioning diesel-powered pumps, dewatering systems, and related equipment. You'll work directly with customers both in the shop and in the field, serving as a trusted technical expert while helping keep critical operations running efficiently.

πŸš€ What Your Day Will Look Like

  • Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, and servicing on rental fleet equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot diesel engines, pumps, electrical systems, and associated equipment.
  • Rebuild diesel engines, pump ends, and related components.
  • Conduct advanced diagnostics utilizing computerized testing equipment.
  • Support customers during equipment setup, startup, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Inspect returned equipment and identify repair requirements.
  • Test repaired equipment to verify performance, safety, and quality standards.
  • Assist with on-site installations and equipment commissioning.
  • Perform maintenance on company vehicles and shop support equipment.
  • Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation supporting customer needs after hours.
  • Champion a strong safety culture by following all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate in Xylem Watermark volunteer and community engagement initiatives.

βœ… What Makes You a Great Fit

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of electric motors and/or deep-set turbine pumps
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Card.
  • Ability to obtain customer-required site clearances, including TWIC, DISA, or other customer-specific credentials as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with pumps, generators, dewatering systems, or rental equipment.
  • Knowledge of electric motors and/or deep-set turbine pumps
  • Experience diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Previous field service experience supporting industrial customers.

This position requires working both indoors and outdoors and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, diesel equipment, and industrial environments.

Physical requirements include:

  • Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing.
  • Lifting and moving materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent travel to customer locations.
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Participation in an on-call rotation schedule.

Standard work week: 40 hours / M-F
