Position Overview
The Summer IT Intern supports the IT department in maintaining systems, troubleshooting technical issues, and assisting with daily IT operations. This role provides hands-on experience in a real-world IT environment while contributing to ongoing projects and support tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1 helpdesk support for hardware, software, and network issues
- Assist with device setup and deployment (PCs, laptops, mobile devices, printers)
- Perform basic troubleshooting for Windows, Microsoft 365, and common business applications
- Support user account management (password resets, access provisioning)
- Document incidents, solutions, and procedures in the IT ticketing system
- Assist with network monitoring and system checks
- Help maintain inventory of IT equipment and assets
- Participate in IT projects such as upgrades, migrations, disposing of equipment or system rollouts
- Follow company security policies and best practices
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- Basic understanding of:
- Windows OS
- Networking fundamentals (IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Microsoft 365 / Office applications
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with:
- Active Directory / Entra ID
- Helpdesk or ticketing systems
- PowerShell or basic scripting
- Familiarity with:
- Hardware troubleshooting
- Printers and peripheral devices
