Job Summary:Â
The Brand Manager will manage an existing portfolio of Lawn and Garden solutions, actively driving the in-market performance of your portfolio for sales and margin growth. The Brand Manager will also be responsible for the development of innovative solutions for unmet consumer needs in an omni-channel business. The Brand Manager is instrumental in achieving the business team’s targets within the budgeted expenses and thus contributes significantly to the overall success of the company and the achievement of its financial and business objectives.Â

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Define, develop, and implement the marketing plan providing a three-year plan and strategic direction to set marketing and innovation strategies to address the short-, mid-, and long-term opportunities in the DIY Lawn and Garden industry
- Analyze product and market performance of the assigned segments in priority channels with the ability to build businesses cases for expansion into new channels
- Work with the Communications and Sales teams to define, develop, and implement advertising and promotional programs as part of the overall marketing plan
- Research and leverage consumer insights to understand motivations, pain points and benefits that drive relevance and modernity to the prescribed product linesÂ
- Lead and engage with cross functional team to develop and commercialize breakthrough, innovative products that feature clear unique selling propositions
- Develop deep customer understanding and insights on business, including customer visits, store, and consumer interaction that will drive a meaningful ‘feel’ of what’s right for the consumer target(s) in your portfolio of productsÂ
- Manage the portfolio by means of Portfolio Analysis and work out recommendations on Life Cycle Management (LCM), Portfolio Consolidation / Rationalization / Optimization to enhance overall profitability and growth opportunities
- Work closely with Commercial Operations, Regional Sales, and National Account Teams to establish and maintain consistency between Portfolio & Brand Strategies, Marketing Plans and Commercial and Channel Strategies and support the sales activities.
- Manage expenses and budgets assigned to this position and support the annual budgeting processes as well as other global or local projects
- Prepare to lead Associate Brand Manager(s) on an as needed basis
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Communications, or related fieldÂ
- MBA or equivalent experience highly preferredÂ
- 3-5 years of marketing and product experienceÂ
- Deep analytical experience in launching successful new products, and management of portfolio through LCM, portfolio analyses and rationalization/optimization.
- Consumer package good industry experience

- Strong financial skills paired with sound commercial understanding.Â
- Excellent oral, written and network communication skills to effectively inform and influence sales and product management teams.Â
