Who You Are
- You have a preferred 2 years of clinical laboratory experience and a strong understanding of laboratory operations, quality standards, and patient-focused care.
- You are highly detail-oriented and able to exercise independent judgment when evaluating, interpreting, and reporting laboratory results within established testing protocols.
- You are proficient in the use of laboratory instrumentation, diagnostic equipment, and computer systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and maintain workflow efficiency.
- You are committed to ongoing professional development, maintaining required competencies, and staying current with laboratory best practices.
- Experience performing moderate complexity testing, including urine microscopy and post-vasectomy sperm count analysis, is preferred.
What You'll Do
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory testing to support the diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care of patients within the WakeMed Urology practice.
- Accurately evaluate, document, and report patient test results while utilizing sound clinical judgment and adhering to established laboratory procedures.
- Operate, maintain, and perform quality control on laboratory equipment, instruments, and systems to ensure reliable and accurate testing outcomes.
- Maintain laboratory readiness by supporting inventory management, equipment maintenance, regulatory compliance, and safe laboratory practices.
- Collaborate with providers and teammates while assisting with the training and onboarding of new employees and students, serving as a knowledgeable resource within the laboratory.

Associate's Degree Medical Laboratory Technology Required - Or Certificate Completed NAACLS accredited program and recognized by the ASCP Board as qualifying for the MLT Required
