Advanced Civil Design, Inc. is seeking an experienced Survey Manager to join our team in Cary, North Carolina.

This is an excellent opportunity for a surveying professional who enjoys leading projects, developing client relationships, solving technical challenges, and mentoring field and technical staff.

About the Role

The Survey Manager will plan, coordinate, and manage land surveying projects from proposal through final delivery. This role will oversee project schedules, budgets, field crews, and technical staff while ensuring accurate survey data, regulatory compliance, quality deliverables, and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing multiple surveying projects, including boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction, utility, right-of-way, and subdivision surveys

• Developing project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource plans

• Directing and supporting field survey crews and technical staff

• Reviewing field data, survey calculations, plats, legal descriptions, and mapping products

• Preparing proposals, fee estimates, and project contracts

• Serving as a primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders

• Resolving technical surveying challenges and coordinating with municipalities and utility companies

• Supporting business development, networking, client presentations, and project growth

• Mentoring and supporting the continued development of survey technicians

• Ensuring compliance with applicable surveying laws, industry standards, safety requirements, and quality-control procedures

• Utilizing technologies including GPS/GNSS, robotic total stations, drones, data collectors, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and GIS applications

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of surveying experience, including project management responsibilities

• Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred

• Professional Surveyor (PS/PLS/RLS) license preferred

• Strong knowledge of boundary, construction, topographic, and other land surveying practices

• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office

• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed

• Experience with municipal, transportation, utility, or land development projects is a plus

• Business development and client relationship management experience is a plus
