Position Overview

Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) assists pharmacist in providing quality patient care by preparing medications for patients and performing other administrative duties. CPhT will also assist with billing and insurance verification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare medication orders accurately and timely

  • Assist with prescription counseling and drug interaction screenings

  • Maintain inventory levels of narcotics and controlled substances

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives

  • Participate in medication safety programs

  • Perform other duties as assigned


Minimum Requirement

Typically requires 3+ years of related experience.

Education
High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred

License/Certification
Active certification through the National Health career Association (NHA) or the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB); must be in good standing
Current CPR/AED training certification

Critical Skills

  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel

  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and staff in English

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Experience in retail, customer service setting preferred
