DESCRIPTION:
As a Senior Procurement/Sourcing Manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will focus on Cap Ex and Construction projects within the Pharmaceutical Services Group. You'll develop complex global category strategies and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver meaningful business value. You'll collaborate with stakeholders across divisions to develop and execute multi-year sourcing strategies that optimize spend, reduce risk, and support our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. This role combines strategic direction with hands-on category management to continuously improve procurement operations and supplier relationships.

Working in a matrix environment, you'll analyze market intelligence, conduct supplier negotiations, and implement innovative solutions to achieve cost savings and operational excellence. You'll act as a trusted advisor to business partners while managing key performance indicators including savings, supplier rationalization, and risk management. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by enhancing procurement practices and developing strategic supplier partnerships across a global organization.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Advanced Degree plus 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of procurement/sourcing experience in mid to large multinational companies; Preferred Fields of Study: Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related technical field

• Must have procurement experience within Construction and Cap Ex projects
• Professional certification (CPSM or equivalent) preferred
• Strong category management experience with demonstrated success in cost savings
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and influencing without direct authority
• Advanced negotiation and contract management skills
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute multi-year category strategies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Excellence in stakeholder management and executive-level communication
• Experience with e-sourcing tools and procurement systems
• Knowledge of supplier performance management and continuous improvement methodologies
• Experience in regulated industries (life sciences, medical device, or pharmaceutical preferred)
• Project management expertise and ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives
• Demonstrated success achieving consistent results in a continuous improvement environment
• Proficiency in MS Office suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and project management tools
• Strong business acumen and ability to align procurement strategies with business objectives
• Ability to travel as needed up to 50%
• Experience in professional development of team members preferred
• Collaborative working style with excellent interpersonal skills
• Experience with sustainability, diversity and risk management initiatives preferred
