Job DetailsJob Location: CG ARIZOLA - CASA GRANDE, AZ 85122Position Type: Full-timeJob Shift: M-TH 6:30 AM - 5:30 PMSTATEMENT OF PURPOSE: Orthodontist Assistant I perform basic supportive dental procedures under the direct supervision of a licensed Orthodontist and perform delegable functions as defined by The Dental Assisting National Board (DANB AZ). ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Ensure quality of care by preparing treatment area for patient; cleans, sterilizes and sets up treatment area, and pulls patient’s chart. Prepare patient for treatment by reviewing medical chart, greeting, seating, draping, taking blood pressure and other vital signs, and communicating information. Assure efficiency of Orthodontist by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for Orthodontist access; suctioning and passing instruments. Assure readiness of materials by selecting, mixing basses/impression materials, placing materials for use, and setting up digital dentistry equipment. Complete coronal polishing, as requested by an Orthodontist. Take and develop patient’s x-rays, as requested by Orthodontist and per regulatory and department protocol and procedures. Obtain intra-oral and extra-oral photographs. Mount and file dental x-rays per department procedures. Obtain digital impressions, as requested by an Orthodontist. Removing and placing orthodontic wires, elastic bands, coil springs, as instructed by the Orthodontist QualificationsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or equivalency. X-Ray Certification required. Coronal Polishing Certification required. Orthodontic Assisting experience preferred. Certified Orthodontic Assistant preferred. (If not certified, employee must achieve required certification within 60 days of employment)
