Job DetailsJob Location: Caseyville - Caseyville, IL 62232Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 4 Year DegreeSalary Range: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 Salary/yearTravel Percentage: NegligibleJob Shift: DayReporting directly to the Controller, the Staff Accountant oversees key aspects of daily finance and accounting operations. Responsibilities include preparing and posting journal entries, supporting accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, utilizing financial systems and technology, and performing various finance-related administrative tasks. The Staff Accountant ensures accurate and timely account reconciliations and reporting of financial statements and prepares financial analyses for the Controller, CFO, and other key stakeholders as needed. Additionally, this role involves identifying opportunities to streamline processes and enhance the distribution and accessibility of financial information across the organization.       Supervisory Responsibilities:  This position has no direct reports.    Duties/Responsibilities:  Ensuring day-to-day bank transactions such as accounts payable, cash receipts and accounts receivable, and credit card transactions are recorded properly.   Performing timely and accurate month-end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring that accounting schedules are updated and accurate.   Ensuring proper revenue and expense recognition.   Ensuring all finance and accounting operations comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and federal and state laws and regulations.   Assisting the Controller and CFO in developing and monitoring departmental, project, and organizational budget; assisting with monthly financial reporting needs.   Performing fiscal year-end close activities and assisting with activities and requirements of external auditors and tax consultants.  Working with various stakeholders to compile annual financial and capital expenditure budgets   Reporting branch and consolidated financial results and key performance indicators on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis  Communicating regularly with the Controller.   Continually seeking and implementing opportunities to streamline and improve finance and accounting operations through technology, including training staff to better utilize financial and accounting software.   Managing certain administration activities, such as state unemployment and income tax registrations, sales and use tax, personal property tax, franchise taxes, company credit card program, etc.   Other duties as assigned to meet organizational requirements.     QualificationsRequired Skills/Abilities:   Excellent verbal and written communication skills   Excellent attention to detail   Ability to solve a variety of problems independently   Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications including Excel, Word and Outlook   Superior data management and data analysis skills.   Self-starter, highly motivated and committed       Education and Experience:  2-5 years+ of accounting experience required   Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles required   Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and tight deadlines simultaneously   Work with accounting system Acumatica is a plus   This role is required to be on-site and in-office   Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required   Master’s degree and/or CPA certification a plus.
