The purpose of the Bartender position is to provide thorough knowledge and understanding of our beverage collection and prepare drink orders to the Standards of Service. They will be expected to uphold our highest standards of hospitality by being attentive, professional, and efficient behind the bar at all times. They will be expected to have a comprehensive understanding of all the products behind the bar. Additionally, they will be responsible for mixing and serving all drinks ordered and mastering the execution of classic and craft cocktails.
This is a seasonal position from May through November, with the potential for continued, year-round employment based on performance and business needs.
Pay Range: $20.00–$30.00 per hour. Starting compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and other job-related factors.
Must have the flexibility to work weekends and holidays.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
• Knowledge of a range of cocktails, beverages, and cordials
• Maintains assigned bar or station to fit guests’ needs
• Makes drinks for the dining room from server orders
• Cleans and maintains bar equipment
• Engages and educates our guests as to why our bar programs are special
• Opens and closes bar(s) according to bar manual and standards
• Takes drink orders at the bar
• Charges drink orders to correct guest name/room
• Sets up and breaks down satellite bars
• Socks and maintains various inventory on the property
Must comply with all company policies and procedures.
Regular and consistent attendance is required to perform the essential functions of this position.
Must be able to work well with other Team Members and Managers and interact with our guests.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 1-year experience in the beverage area in a fine dining establishment
• Basic knowledge of wine service required
• Need to have or be willing to obtain a TABC server’s permit before start date or end of the grace period
LANGUAGE SKILLS
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to communicate with guests, team members and managers effectively
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
• Basic knowledge and understanding of math
• Must be able to do property-wide charging and closing out of checks
REASONING ABILITY
• Must be able to make decisions under pressure
• Must be able to manage diverse tasks simultaneously
• Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to be on feet for an extended period
• Must be able to operate a company vehicle or golf cart safely
WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Dining Room, Bar and Kitchen areas
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
