The Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing correct product movement, inventory and charging for all daily bar and beverage functions for the hotel company and ensuring a successful 5-star experience for guests. This position also oversees programming and quality assurance for the beverage program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Assists in leading the overall operation of the Wine Program
• Weekly ordering and receiving for standard beverage pars
• Coordinates group and event beverage needs as well as ordering
• Facilitates end-of-month inventory and closing of end-of-month
• Maintains POS for new and expired beverage buttons
• Develop the cocktail program to increase revenue and change seasonally
• Monitors bar service standards and adjusts as needed
• Performs manager duties in the absence of the Dining Room Manager or as needed
• Strong knowledge of wine & spirits
• Trains staff on wines, spirits and cocktails
Must comply with all company policies and procedures.
To perform the essential functions of this position regular and consistent attendance is required.
Must be able to work well with other Team Members and Managers and interact with our guests.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Bar Staff and Dining Room Staff in the absence of the Dining Room Manager
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• 4-year degree in culinary arts preferred
• Experience in the hospitality industry preferred
• Technical school or on the job formal training of Wine and Spirits preferred
LANGUAGE SKILLS
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must have strong listening and interpretive skills
• Must be able to effectively communicate with guests, team members, and managers
• Must have the ability to maintain professional communication and be a role model to other staff members
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
• Knowledge and understanding of property management cashiering procedures
• Must be able to understand basic math and comprehend budgeting issues
REASONING ABILITY
• Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to be on feet for a long period of time
• Must be able to safely operate a company vehicle or golf cart
WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Dining Room, Bar, and Kitchen areas
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
