What You'll Do:

  • This position will provide support to True Oil LLC as well as our sister company True Drilling LLC.
  • Supervise completion of sales/use/compliance tax returns, percent payroll, and expense reports.
  • Approve journal entries.
  • Review accounts payable vouchers as assigned in workflows.
  • Prepare and review journal entries. 
  • Perform general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements.
  • Verify that controls and processes have been followed.
  • Work with operations, vendors and/or customers to solve problems.
  • Oversee accounts receivable and/or accounts payable functions, as assigned.
  • Prepare and review sales tax reports.
  • Participate in monthly, quarterly and annual close processes, including preparation of 1099s. 
  • Assist with fixed asset tracking and accounting.
  • Supervise and direct work product of subordinates.
  • Implement training for new hires and identify training opportunities for subordinates.
  • Provide coaching and performance reviews for direct reports.


What We're Looking For:

Required Education, Experience and/or Abilities

  • An associate’s degree in accounting and four (4) or more years of experience in accounting; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered. 
  • Complete understanding of accounting principles. 
  • Attention to detail with the ability to verify accuracy in one’s own work.
  • Ability to work in a team environment while demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read basic business documents (invoices, various financial statements, emails), as well as the ability to correspond in an informative professional manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and handle multiple activities while adhering to deadlines.
  • Ability to recognize training opportunities unique to each direct report.
  • Ability to calculate financial amounts and indicators.
  • Strong general ledger knowledge.

Preferred Education, Experience and/or Abilities 

  • Oil and gas experience.
  • ERP experience Oracle, Excalibur, E21, NextWorld as applicable.
  • Leadership, supervisory, and training skills.

Computer Skills  

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel software applications.
  • Knowledge of accounting software, ERP’s.
  • Ability to master various in-house software applications is essential.
  • Ability to use a 10-key by touch; proficiency with computer keyboarding.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • English language fluency, verbal and written.
  • Acceptable results of a pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol test.
