Job Description

 

Norco is currently seeking an individual to fill our Industrial Non-CDL Route Delivery Driver position. The Industrial Non-CDL Route Delivery Driver delivers and exchanges full cylinders and liquid vessels for empty ones. Industrial Non CDL Route Delivery Driver also delivers freight to customers on a weekly route stop. Will also provide back up customer service support. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Deliver freight and gas cylinders to customers
  • Perform pre-trip inspection of truck
  • Load and unload freight and accurately fills out truck manifest
  • Accurately fill out gas invoices
  • Take basic orders from customers when needed
  • Greet customers in a professional and enthusiastic way
  • Process customer orders and accurately input customer order into the computer
  • Adhere to all established procedures, policies and safety rules
  • Perform other tasks as assigned or necessary

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • No at fault accidents in the past 3 years
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (writing invoices, picking up small cylinders, rolling large cylinders, pushing cylinder cart, hand trucks, steering truck, etc.)
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or carry objects weighing over 100 lbs
  • Ability to work safely around special hazards (i.e. mechanical – operating lift gate, and explosives – haul and work around flammable gas and non-flammable gas)
  • Load and secure freight and cylinders in trailer
  • Basic understanding of which applications are used for different gases
  • Basic understanding of welding machines and related tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
