What You'll Do:Â
- Assists with making sure pipe racks are safe.
- Assists with assuring the pipe is loaded safely and properly on trailers.Â
- Unloads pipe and other tubular products from trucks (either BHT or foreign trucks).
- Counts items and verifies against prepared lists; assists in inventory verifications.Â
- Inspects and performs minor maintenance to forklifts, as required.
- Responsible for safe and efficient operations of the vehicle;Â maintains knowledge of safety procedures while performing forklift driving and materials handling tasks.
What We're Looking For:
Required Education, Experience and/or Abilities
- A high school diploma or equivalent education with experience in trucking operations; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to meet physical requirements established by the Department of Transportation, including drug/alcohol testing.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Possession of a valid driver’s license appropriate for the type of equipment to be operated.
- OSHA forklift certification preferred, or have the ability to pass operator test for certification.
Additional Eligibility QualificationsÂ
- English language fluency, verbal and written.
- Acceptable results of a pre-employment background check, credit check and drug/alcohol test.
