Gastro Care Partners is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Patient Access Scheduler (Checkout) to provide exceptional patient service while coordinating follow-up appointments and scheduling procedures at the time of checkout. As a key member of the patient access team, this role serves as an essential point of contact for patients, ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience from checkout through scheduling. Primary responsibilities include scheduling endoscopic procedures and follow-up appointments, providing patients with accurate preparation instructions, coordinating provider schedules, and maintaining accurate patient information to support efficient clinical operations. Additionally, employees hired for this position must reside in the State of Arizona no later than their first day of employment and maintain residency in Arizona throughout their employment in this role.   Compensation: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour plus Full Benefits Key Responsibilities: Greet patients, families, and visitors in a warm, professional manner, ensuring a positive patient experience from arrival through checkout. Register patients and verify demographic, insurance, and medical information, updating records as needed. Schedule outpatient endoscopic procedures, follow-up appointments, office visits, and in-clinic procedures while adhering to provider schedules, organizational protocols, and clinical requirements. Educate patients on procedure dates, preparation instructions, insurance requirements, billing processes, and next steps to ensure they are fully informed prior to their appointments. Verify insurance eligibility, obtain or confirm required authorizations, and ensure all scheduling requirements are met before services are rendered. Answer incoming phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and direct calls to the appropriate departments or team members. Coordinate scheduling and patient care activities with providers, clinical staff, and other Patient Access team members to promote efficient workflows and continuity of care. Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR), ensuring patient information is complete and up to date. Perform a variety of clerical and administrative duties to support the daily operations of the practice. Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and ensure compliance with HIPAA and all organizational policies and procedures. Cross-Training Responsibilities: To support departmental workflow and provide coverage as needed, this position will also be cross-trained in: Insurance verification and eligibility review. Processing inbound medical records queues, including importing and indexing patient records into the EMR. Assisting with other Patient Access functions as assigned. Required Qualifications     High school diploma or equivalent required. One (1) or more years of experience in a healthcare, medical office, front office, or customer service setting preferred. Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and remain organized in a fast-paced, high-volume healthcare environment. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and medical scheduling preferred. Basic knowledge of insurance verification, scheduling processes, and medical terminology preferred. Ability to work collaboratively with providers, clinical staff, and fellow Patient Access team members to support efficient patient care and operations.   Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday Frequent use of hands for computer use, phone systems, and documentation Ability to communicate clearly in person and over the phone Occasional lifting or carrying of up to 20 pounds (e.g., office supplies, files) Ability to bend, reach, and perform routine office-related physical tasks as needed   Work Environment Full-time, in-person position in a clinical office setting Regular interaction with patients, providers, and clinical staff Fast-paced environment requiring professionalism, adaptability, and teamwork   Conditions of Employment Must successfully pass a criminal background check as a condition of employment Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening, which includes testing for marijuana Continued employment is contingent upon maintaining compliance with organizational policies and standards   #GCPADMIN Qualifications
