The Assembly Quality Control Technician is responsible for inspecting components and assemblies to ensure they meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product integrity by identifying defects, documenting results, and collaborating with production and supervision teams to drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect incoming materials, in-process assemblies, and finished components for compliance with blueprints, work instructions, and quality standards.
  • Verify dimensions, tolerances, and specifications using appropriate measuring and inspection tools.
  • Conduct visual and functional inspections to identify defects, improper fit, or workmanship issues.
  • Review assembly processes to confirm proper adherence to documented procedures and specifications.
  • Document inspection results accurately by completing quality checklists, inspection reports, and nonconformance records.
  • Communicate quality issues clearly and promptly to supervisors and assembly personnel.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions to reduce rework and defects.
  • Perform final quality inspections and sign-offs prior to shipment or customer handoff.
  • Maintain inspection tools and equipment, including confirming calibration status and reporting issues.
  • Ensure a safe, organized, and clean work environment in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to team objectives by supporting overall production and quality goals as needed.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing or quality inspection experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
  • Familiarity with basic quality control concepts and inspection methods.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing customer requirements and work environments.
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 40–50 lbs as needed.

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse environment.
  • Requires standing, bending, and performing repetitive inspection tasks.
  • Safety shoes with composite toe reinforcement required.
