General Maintenance

General Maintenance Position:

The maintenance person assists management in achieving and maintaining outstanding interior and exterior cleanliness and help maintain equipment.

Knowledge of and skills in:

• Methods and use of cleaning materials, equipment, and supplies
• Adhering to safe work practices
• Using cleaning agents, supplies and equipment
• Understanding and carrying out verbal and written communication
• Working from heights of up to 30 ft
• Functioning as a self-starter, who works well independently or in a team
• Working independently with minimal supervision, perform a variety of tasks and adjust to flexible assignments often with short notice
• Handle multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines simultaneously
• Interacting with persons of different age groups and cultural backgrounds

Essential Job Functions:

• Performs general cleaning and overall maintenance for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary, safe, and attractive environment.
• Follows a cleaning schedule within an area of responsibility developed by appropriate personnel
• Operates all equipment in a safe manner
• Evaluates situations to take appropriate action and/or direct the situation to the appropriate personnel for resolution
• Maintaining the outside grounds and emptying trash cans on a routine basis
• Clean equipment, inside and outside of windows, restrooms, and fuel dispensers.
• Clean HVAC/Exhaust units and roof of debris
• Snow removal from sidewalks when needed
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

Physical Requirements:

• Sit, stand, or walk for prolonged periods of time
• Climb stairs or ladders
• Use arms, wrists, legs, and hands in repetitive movements such as grasping and squeezing
• Bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting to 50lbs
