POSITION SUMMARY:
This role is critical in fabricating and assembling structural components using MIG welding techniques, ensuring precision, durability, and compliance with engineering specifications.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Perform complex welding operations on structural steel and heavy components
- Interpret detailed blueprints and welding symbols with minimal supervision
- Perform quality checks using gauges, measuring tools, and NDT basics
- Assist in training Level 1 welders and provide technical guidance
- Troubleshoot welding issues and recommend corrective actions
- Maintain compliance with industry standards (AWS, ASME, etc.)
- All other duties assigned.

REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings.
- Familiarity with structural welding codes and standards (AWS D1.1 or equivalent).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Knowledge of 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and workplace safety practices.
- AWS certification is a plus.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training or welding certification preferred.
- 2-4 years of MIG welding experience, preferably in a structural or heavy fabrication setting.
