POSITION SUMMARY:

This role is critical in fabricating and assembling structural components using MIG welding techniques, ensuring precision, durability, and compliance with engineering specifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Perform advanced welding techniques, including multi-process and positional welding (vertical, overhead)
Lead fabrication projects and coordinate workflow among welders
Conduct precision inspections and ensure compliance with strict tolerances
Mentor and train junior welders, ensuring skill development and safety awareness
Document weld quality, production metrics, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Serve as a subject matter expert for welding standards and certifications
All other duties assigned.

REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings.
Familiarity with structural welding codes and standards (AWS D1.1 or equivalent).
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Knowledge of 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and workplace safety practices.
AWS certification is a plus.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)

High school diploma or GED required; technical training or welding certification preferred.
6+ years of MIG welding experience, preferably in a structural or heavy fabrication setting.
