We are seeking a Senior Investigator to examine and assess healthcare providers’ compliance related to healthcare legislation. This position conducts research and analysis, pulls information, cites regulations using regulatory language, reviews provider documents, and generates complete written outcome reports of enforcement investigations a provider’s compliance with the law. This opportunity is especially attractive to individuals who enjoy researching legal and regulatory requirements and possess strong analytical skills. Responsibilities Conduct and oversee comprehensive investigations into potential violations to determine provider compliance with contractual obligations and regulatory requirements. Draft and review detailed investigative reports, complaint summaries, and findings documents for internal and client use. Perform in-depth analyses of provider operations and documentation to identify trends, compliance gaps, and process inefficiencies. Lead the development, review, and maintenance of project artifacts, including User Guides, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), workflows, and templates, based on evolving project and client requirements. Mentor and support junior investigators by providing guidance on investigative techniques, documentation standards, and client communications. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance team efficiency, accuracy, and overall project performance. Facilitate and lead virtual meetings with providers and stakeholders to present findings, clarify documentation requests, and support compliance initiatives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, project leadership, and external agencies to ensure the consistent application of compliance standards and regulatory interpretations. Maintain clear, organized, and comprehensive records of investigative activities, findings, and follow-up actions to ensure transparency and audit readiness. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in public policy, public health, health administration, business, or a related field from an accredited college or university. Minimum of four (4) years of post-education work experience in a corporate environment, including at least three (3) years performing investigations. A master's degree in business or a related technical field may substitute for two (2) years of experience. Working knowledge of compliance laws, regulations, and healthcare industry practices. Working knowledge of health insurance cost-sharing requirements for Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance, and/or the ability to quickly learn complex information and apply it when conducting investigations. Strong attention to detail and excellent written communication skills. Self-directed with the ability to manage deadlines effectively. Flexible, proactive, and collaborative team player. Willingness to report to the Woodlawn, MD headquarters or another designated location to participate in project-related activities.
