Position: Personnel Assistant II
Position Overview
Crossroads is seeking full time personnel to provide military HR support services within the Military Personnel Division at Fort Knox, KY. This level requires widespread knowledge of various application processes. Guidance and training are provided as needed.
Primary Duties:
- Conduct effective briefings on basic military HR topics, reviewing documents for completeness and accuracy, identify and resolve discrepancies, and provide timely and courteous customer service.
- Effectively handle routine customer inquiries via telephone, email and in person; coordinate with supported unit administrative personnel; conduct Soldier interviews; initiate and/or process personnel actions.
- Access standard automated systems such as IPPS-A, INPROC/OUTPROC, TRANSPROC, ATRRS
- Perform as an effective military HR specialist within the confines of military personnel work centers that include Automation Support, In & Out Processing, DEERS/Identification Card Management, Soldier Readiness Processing, Soldier Actions, Reassignment Processing, Casualty Case Management, Transition and Retirement Services.
- Protect privacy, administer training, and ensure policy and procedure compliance.
- Cross train in all other areas under the contract to act as a back-up supporting staffing shortages or special projects when needed.
- Organize, analyze, and maintain records and prepare reports according to record keeping requirements.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must possess proficient knowledge across a variety of military human resources (HR) functional areas including HQDA governing directives, miliary HR personnel policies, and installation-level operating procedures.
- Must be customer service oriented with the strong organizational and communication skills – both verbal and written.
- Must have experience with current military automation systems including IPPS-A.
- Must be familiar with Microsoft 365.
- Must have the ability to speak before large groups of customers.
Education, Training, and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- Associate’s Degree preferred.
- Must have 1-2 years of experience in Military Human Resources services and Office Administration preferred.
- Consideration may be given to other combinations of relevant education, training, and experience that equip you with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in this position.
