The Arc of Ocean County is looking for an accomplished leader to serve as Assistant Executive Director of Residential Services, guiding residential operations that support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living full, meaningful lives. This executive-level position combines strategic leadership, operational oversight, quality improvement, fiscal management, and team development.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Assistant Executive Director will provide leadership across Residential Services while also maintaining executive oversight of the Agency's Maintenance Department. The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of residential service delivery, regulatory requirements, and organizational leadership, along with the ability to build effective teams and turn strategic priorities into measurable results.

- Guide the overall operation of Residential Services, maintaining high standards for quality, person-centered supports across multiple residential locations.
- Establish and carry out strategic priorities designed to strengthen operations, enhance service quality, and improve organizational performance.
- Oversee admissions, referrals, and service coordination in collaboration with the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) and Support Coordination Agencies.
- Promote practices that support effective, consistent, and person-centered residential services.
- Lead, coach, and mentor Directors and Assistant Directors, encouraging accountability, teamwork, professional growth, and ongoing improvement.
- Partner with executive leadership on organizational priorities and long-term strategies.
- Represent the Agency at the executive level when working with regulatory bodies, community organizations, families, and other key stakeholders.
- Build productive relationships that advance the Agency's mission and strengthen collaboration across the organization.
- Maintain executive oversight of compliance with applicable licensing, Medicaid, accreditation, and funding standards.
- Direct Quality Assurance efforts by reviewing performance measures, identifying opportunities for improvement, and putting system-wide enhancements into practice.
- Use organizational performance information to support sound decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Provide fiscal leadership through the development, management, and ongoing monitoring of departmental budgets.
- Provide executive oversight of the Agency's Maintenance Department, including the condition and safety of facilities, equipment, vehicles, and grounds.
- Ensure maintenance operations meet applicable regulatory requirements and support safe, well-maintained environments.
- Work with executive leadership to plan long-term facility improvements, capital projects, and preventive maintenance initiatives.
We are seeking an experienced executive who can successfully lead complex operations, develop high-performing teams, and navigate the regulatory and service-delivery environment surrounding residential supports for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Special Education, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field required. Master's Degree preferred.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- At least five (5) years of progressively responsible leadership experience managing multiple programs and supervisory staff.
- Demonstrated experience with budgeting, strategic planning, regulatory compliance, and organizational leadership.
- Strong knowledge of DDD regulations, Medicaid requirements, and residential service delivery.
- Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
- Valid New Jersey Driver's License.
