Position Summary:
The Master HVAC Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing, maintaining, and installing residential and/or commercial heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems. This position serves as a senior technical resource, handling complex HVAC issues, ensuring code compliance, maintaining high-quality workmanship, and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair residential and commercial HVAC systems, including furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, air conditioners, rooftop units, and ventilation equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, system tune-ups, and troubleshooting.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and building plans.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and control-system problems.
- Perform refrigerant recovery, evacuation, charging, and leak detection in accordance with EPA requirements.
- Install, replace, and commission HVAC equipment and related components.
- Test system performance and make adjustments to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Identify equipment failures and recommend appropriate repair or replacement options.
- Maintain accurate service records, parts usage, job notes, and customer documentation.
- Communicate repair findings, options, and costs clearly to customers.
- Follow all applicable HVAC codes, OSHA requirements, manufacturer specifications, and company safety procedures.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and apprentice technicians.
- Maintain service vehicles, tools, equipment, and inventory.
- Respond to emergency and after-hours service calls when required.
 Qualifications:
- Master HVAC license/certification or applicable state/local master-level credentials, where required.
- Extensive experience servicing and troubleshooting HVAC systems.
- EPA Section 608 certification.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, refrigeration, combustion, hydronic, and HVAC control systems.
- Ability to use diagnostic meters, gauges, combustion analyzers, and other HVAC testing equipment.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Strong communication, customer-service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and safely in residential, commercial, and mechanical environments.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry HVAC equipment and materials.
- Ability to work in attics, crawl spaces, mechanical rooms, rooftops, and other confined or difficult-to-access areas.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work for extended periods.
- Ability to work outdoors and in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10 years of HVAC service experience.
- Experience with commercial HVAC, boilers, VRF/VRV, refrigeration, or building automation systems.
- NATE certification or equivalent advanced HVAC credentials.
- Experience supervising or mentoring other technicians.
- Strong knowledge of local mechanical and building codes.

Schedule:
- Full-time, Monday through Friday
- Weekend and after-hours service call rotation required
