HVAC New Construction Technician

Location: Central NJ
Pay: $25–$35 per hour, depending on knowledge and experience
Experience: 3+ years

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced HVAC New Construction Technician to join our team working primarily on light commercial and multifamily new construction projects. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on HVAC knowledge, can adapt to changing day-to-day job requirements, and is comfortable working in a variety of environments.

Responsibilities

Start up, test, and troubleshoot HVAC equipment and systems
Work with VRF systems, mini-split systems, RTUs, furnaces, coils, and condensers
Work with refrigeration gauges and perform system diagnostics
Read and interpret electric meters
Braze refrigerant lines and wiring as required
Perform equipment checks and ensure systems are operating properly
Adapt to changing job-site conditions and daily priorities
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Follow all job-site safety requirements and procedures
System start ups

Qualifications & Requirements

3+ years of HVAC experience
Experience with light commercial and/or multifamily new construction
Experience as an HVAC start-up mechanic preferred
EPA Certification required
OSHA 10 required
OSHA 30 preferred/required as applicable to the job site
Ability to properly use refrigeration gauges and electrical meters
Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills
Ability to adapt to different environments and changing daily assignments
Clean, valid driver's license
Must be able to pass a drug screening
Must provide and properly wear required PPE
Hard hat required
Steel-toe boots required — no regular shoes
Ability to braze and perform related HVAC installation/start-up work

Compensation

$25–$35 per hour, based on experience, technical knowledge, and skill level.
