Qualifications:
- Must be 17 years or older.
- Must be in good health and properly immunized against infectious diseases, including measles, mumps, rubella, tetanus and diphtheria.
- Must provide written proof of recent TB test or obtain within two weeks of date of hire.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must have current Food Handlers Permit or obtain within two weeks.
- Must be positive and encouraging and have the ability to motivate residents to participate in activities.
Responsibilities:
- Residents shall be encouraged to maintain and develop their fullest potential for independent living through participation in activity and recreational programs.
- Will assist and work with volunteers and find ways to be able to utilize the assistance from volunteers.
- Involve C.N.A.'s in assisting with group activities.
- Maintain inventory of needed supplies for a variety of different activities.
- Will create a monthly activity calendar with a wide variety of enjoyable activities for the residents.
- Must do daily activity and attendance charting on each resident.
- Will follow monthly activity calendar on the days scheduled to work.
- Will ensure that activities are offered to each resident as identified on the resident service plan.
- Will maintain a scrapbook and Facebook page of facility new happenings and activities.
- Must participate in required monthly In-Services and weekly department head meetings.
- Will make sure that the activity room is left clean and orderly at the end of their shift.
- Maintain a good working relationship with all customers; including residents, family members, community, vendors and staff.
- May be asked to work different days or hours should a special activity/event that requires more activity assistance, fall on a day off.
- Will provide 1:1 visits/interaction with residents that are not attending group activities.
- Will assist with decorating the building for holidays.
- Will not participate in gossip of any kind.
- Will conduct self professionally.
- And all other duties as assigned by Administration
Universal Precautions:
Exposure to blood/bodily fluids is likely.
Physical Requirements:
Has ability to do occasional heavy lifting of residents (up to 40 lbs.).
