Job DetailsJob Location: Cedar City - Cedar City, UT 84721School Year: 2026 - 2027  Location: Cedar City Campus  Job Summary: The Operations Specialist is a hands-on member of the American Preparatory Academy support team responsible for helping maintain safe, clean, organized, and welcoming school environments. This role supports daily school operations through facility maintenance, custodial support, event setups, deliveries, traffic control, and other campus needs. The ideal candidate is dependable, proactive, service-minded, comfortable with physical work, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.  Duties & Responsibilities: The position includes but is not limited to the following list of representative duties: Support student drop-off and pickup by directing traffic and pedestrians and maintaining signs, cones, and other traffic controls. Set up and take down tables, chairs, benches, and other equipment for events, assemblies, meetings, performances, and school activities. Perform routine maintenance and repairs to buildings, furniture, equipment, and vehicles. Keep school facilities clean, safe, organized, and well-maintained, including restrooms, floors, windows, common areas, and outdoor spaces. Remove garbage and recycling and maintain adequate supplies of paper goods, soap, cleaning products, and other operational materials. Assist with snow and ice removal, building inspections, emergency drills, and other safety-related activities. Safely operate hand tools, power equipment, ladders, and other equipment as needed. Receive and assist with deliveries and maintain organized storage and work areas. Communicate effectively with staff and respond to changing priorities and school needs. Perform other related duties as assigned.  Schedule: M-F: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm OR M-F: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm depending on need  Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, and up to a 2% 401(k) match and 4% contribution PTO dependant on start date Partial school breaks off Priority enrollment for school age children QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail. Commitment to safety, cleanliness, and quality workmanship.  Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Similar experience in facilities, maintenance, custodial services, construction, warehouse, or other hands-on work is preferred. Valid driver's license may be required based on assigned responsibilities. Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol testing in accordance with school policy. Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs. and safely perform physically demanding work, including standing, walking, bending, climbing, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
