Role Summary

 

Balance the execution of activities supporting product availability to customers and investments of capital in inventories to support corporate and local business plans and obligations to shareholders.

 

This role is 100% on-site at our Fayetteville, NC location.

Main Tasks

    • Evaluate customer demand and convert planned orders into firm production schedules within SAP for assigned production centers.
    • Develop and manage production schedules that balance customer requirements, operational efficiency, and resource utilization.
    • Establish production priorities and monitor schedule adherence to ensure on-time delivery performance.
    • Manage material inventory levels to support plant objectives and maintain uninterrupted production.
    • Monitor material shortages and coordinate expedited replenishment activities to prevent production disruptions.
    • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and maintain supply continuity.
    • Track supplier delivery, quality, and performance metrics, driving corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Work closely with underperforming suppliers and production teams to improve service, quality, and delivery results.
    • Create and manage supplier logistics complaints and support supplier performance reviews and monthly reporting.
    • Participate in supplier selection, qualification, and development activities to support operational requirements.
    • Support new product launches and engineering changes by establishing safety stock levels, supplier releases, and material transition plans.
    • Manage material phase-outs to minimize excess inventory and prevent obsolescence.
    • Communicate demand fluctuations, inventory exceptions, and release adjustments to suppliers to align capacity and material availability.
    • Coordinate expedited inbound freight arrangements when critical materials are required.
    • Partner with production, engineering, warehouse, distribution, and scheduling teams to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement.
    • Conduct visual inventory checks and material searches across warehouses, docks, and production areas to ensure inventory accuracy.
    • Walk production lines to identify scheduling concerns, material constraints, and operational challenges.
    • Maintain accurate planning, scheduling, inventory, and supplier records using SAP.
    • Prepare and distribute reports supporting inventory management, supplier performance, and production planning activities.
    • Foster strong communication across plant operations to ensure alignment on production schedules and material requirements.
    • Adhere to company policies, quality standards, safety regulations, and housekeeping practices while maintaining a professional and positive work environment.

Your Profile

 

Education:

 

  • Associate Degree in Business Administration, Industrial Technology, Supply Chain Management, a related discipline or equivalent in related experience.  

 

Experience: 

 

  • 1-3 years in production environment dealing with vendors/production floor. Experience should include various levels of the supply chain (preferably all) to provide materials/products which will support Production/Customer requirements

 

Nice to Have

 

  • Advanced Knowledge in Excel - Ability to manipulate data using pivot table techniques.
  • Working Knowledge of SAP Materials Management Module or other MRP system
