Job DetailsJob Location: Main Campus - CEDAR RAPIDS, IA 52404Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: High SchoolJob Shift: DayJob Category: Nonprofit - Social ServicesPosition Summary: To function as a member of the Inpatient Team providing direct care services that are client centered, strengths based and professional. Provide supervision and programming to clients that cannot or do not attend school due to IEP structures, removals, suspensions, etc. Essential Functions: Work collaboratively with all staff to provide educational support to clients not attending public school for any reason Act as the primary contact for district school personnel when clients are removed for any reason Request homework or supplemental work to maintain school requirements Ensure homework is passed to cottage staff members at end of day Communicate with Program Managers and Program Therapists when clients are removed from the school setting or are refusing school Monitor school removals, suspensions, phone calls for tracking purposes. Utilize data to monitor trends by school, clients, and specific behaviors. If patterns exist communicate to Program Managers and Director of Inpatient Services Monitor client grades and notify Program Manager if grades are below average Coordinate pick-ups or drop-offs with campus staff to/from schools as needed Must be able to meet Agencys driver eligibility in order to safely transport clients/consumers to/from program and community activities as directed by the Agency Communicate with Program Therapist and Program Manager challenges/barriers and insight into behaviors or struggles for clients to attend school in a timely manner so therapeutic interventions can be modified to meet client need and improve outcomes. This communication will occur via email, in person, and/or by attending clinical rounds. Ability to cope under stressful situations and handle complex cottage environment Adapts to new, unusual, stressful situations without adversely impacting others Performs additional assignments as directed QualificationsAcceptable Experience/Training/ Education: Must be 18 years of age High school diploma or equivalent Requirements: Must have a valid driver's license and be able to meet Agencys driver eligibility in order to safely transport clients/consumers to/from program and community activities as directed by the Agency
