POSITION SUMMARY
 Provides administrative support to other human resources (HR) professionals related to benefits, hiring, payroll and other key HR areas. Responsibilities include assisting with the recruitment and onboarding process and maintaining accurate employee records. Assists with internal and external communications for the human resources department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESÂ
 The following statements are intended as an overview of key responsibilities of the work for this position and are not all inclusive:
Â
- Provides next-level guest service to internal and external guests. Demonstrates the Cedar Crossing culture in all interactions with guests and co-workers.
- Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information in accordance with established procedures with company policy and state regulations.
- Ensures compliance with all department and company policies, procedures, internal controls, and government regulations.
- Responsible for creating and fostering an environment of support and motivation for Team Members.
- Performs administrative duties, such as maintaining employee databases and sorting emails for the HR department.
- May assist with submission of online job postings and scheduling of job interviews.Â
- Coordinates, sets up, and may participate in new hire orientation and training sessions.
- Serves as a point of contact, provides smooth communication with Team Members and a timely resolution to their questions.
- Verifies the completeness of all documentation pertaining to Team Members, to include new hires, terminations, rate changes, classification changes, payroll changes, W-4 changes and personal data changes (telephone number, address, etc.).
- Ensures data entry is timely and correct; files as required for any paper documentation.Â
- Inputs and maintains personnel information in computer systems to run daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly reports as needed.
- Issues/returns Team Member uniforms and conduct monthly inventory.
- Maintains information and decorations on Human Resources bulletin boards in all areas of the property.
- Adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies in an ethical manner.
- Support special projects, Team Member engagement events, and other HR initiatives as needed.
- Coaches, mentors, advocates for the Team Member as well as the company and is a Cedar Crossing champion.Â
- Resolves problems that are within the position's scope of authority and recommends courses of action to resolve problems that are beyond the scope of authority to the position’s supervisor.
- Keeps position supervisor informed of relevant activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma required; six (6) months to one year of experience in customer service. Human Resources experience highly desired. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) required. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.

REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
In addition to the other duties described herein, every Team Member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:
- Attend required training sessions offered by the casino.
- Obtain and maintain required license(s).
- Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
- Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the team member’s department.
- Have knowledge of the Property’s programs to address problem gambling.
- Consult with the appropriate individuals and maintain an effective system of written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with gaming regulations and Internal Controls.
- Take the appropriate steps to investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations and report such instances to the appropriate levels of management.
- Report any acts of wrongdoing on behalf of any Team Member of which they have knowledge.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- High-demand work environment with competing priorities; must be able to work effectively, efficiently, and with kindness, in this fast-paced environment.
- Move around all work areas effectively and efficiently.
- Work long hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Work in an environment with moderate to loud noise levels, may be exposed to secondhand smoke and varied light levels, including flashing lights.Â
- Ability to stand, walk, bend for entire shift.
- Work with typical office equipment such as keyboard, mouse, copier, scissors, stapler and others.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:Â
Iowa Racing & Gaming Commission License
Valid Driver’s License with a minimum of three (3) years’ driving experience
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervisory responsibilities.Â
