Human Resources Specialist

About this Role

We are seeking an experienced HR Specialist to support and execute core human resources functions within our automotive dealership. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, staying organized, and supporting leaders and employees in a fast-paced environment. 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate new hire onboarding (offer letters, I-9s, background checks, orientation)
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and Iowa employment laws
  • Prepare HR documents 
  • Administer and support benefits, leaves of absence, and workers' compensation claims
  • Create and generate regular reports for HR and Management team
  • Provide administrative and reporting support to the HR team
  • Answer employees questions about HR-related issues
  • HR projects as assigned

Requirements and Skills:

  • HR experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of employment laws (FMLA, ADA, workers' comp, wage & hour)
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism
  • Experience with HRIS, payroll, and benefits platforms preferred
