Lab Assistant

The Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa Medical Laboratory is seeking a full-time Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist to join our exceptional team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional who thrives in a patient-focused, fast-paced clinical environment.

Primary duties for this position include but are not limited to: 

• Perform phlebotomy procedures with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Conduct EKGs and process results.
• Patient education for sample collections.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked, and organized exam rooms, draw stations, and clinical areas.
• Complete clerical and administrative duties as needed.

This position requires rotating shifts between 6:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., on a weekly basis.

Qualifications:

• Experience performing phlebotomies, 1-2 years similar preferred.        
• Strong Commitment to patient care and teamwork.
• Excellent communication skills, professionalism, reliability, and maintaining confidentiality.
• Proficiency (or ability to become proficient) in EMR and related computer systems.
• Thorough understanding of safety regulations and best practices.
