Responsibilities
The Ready To Eat (RTE) Cereals Manufacturing Manager is responsible for management of all financial, production, maintenance, regulatory, quality, safety and labor relations areas and maximizing the RTE Business Unit’s contribution to the company’s profitability via efficient supply chain management. The RTE Cereals Business Unit consists of a highly automated department with complex product flows and equipment. This position coordinates daily activities with other operating departments, staff groups, and/or suppliers. The RTE Processing Manager is expected to develop, recommend, and implement productivity improvements. This position is responsible for the development of highly potential members of their staff, while motivating others to perform at the top limit of their individual abilities. This position is located onsite in Cedar Rapids, IA.

- Ensure financial commitments and targets are achieved or exceeded in the areas of operating income and invested capital, contributing to the net profitability of the RTE Cereals business, focusing in the Processing area. This is achieved through management of capital plans, productivity and cost management goals, variable costs, fixed costs (including maintenance), quality, work team development, and other miscellaneous areas.
- Develop long range plans, goals, and strategies; ensure net profitability of the unit using latest Review & Response processes, robust root cause analysis tools, and advanced problem solving.
- Establish and maintain departmental programs which assure full compliance with pre-established Federal, State, Corporate, and Plant sanitation, Food Safety, and Employee safety standards.
- Establish and adhere to department variable and fixed budgets; to establish and adhere to yield, waste, cullage, and over-pack standards; to direct the department in such a manner as to ensure the highest level of efficiency while meeting budgeted costs and standards; to continue to push the organization to attack leading financial loss drivers.
- Assure effective labor relations and consistent contract and policy administration; to promote a work environment conducive to frontline capability and motivation.
- Train and motivate up to five direct and indirect reports in the performance of their duties and develop their management talents; to encourage creativity.
- Seek and understand new developments affecting the RTE Cereals Business Unit including new products, modifications, and processes.
- Provide all necessary safety and incident prevention activities including inspections, follow-up, training, communication, and corrective action to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all salaried resources, production team members, and maintenance personnel.
- Assure effective development and implementation of Natural Work Team plans, effectively moving and executing work at the shop floor level.
Compensation and Benefits:
- The expected compensation range for this position is between $110,700 - $185,250.

- Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 12% of annual salary paid out annually.
- Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications
- Experience with OBW
- Proven experience in sustaining a culture of continuous improvement and high-performance work systems
- Demonstrated the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and problem solve
- Demonstrated knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, statistics, financial analysis and accounting skills
- Experience with project management and long-range operations planning
- Ability to adapt style and approach to changing business environment; embrace and champion change
- Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain management
- Working knowledge of operations, engineering, maintenance and Quality/Food Safety processes and standards
- Ability to model integrity, transparency, and authenticity and be respectful and inclusive of others
- Experience in labor relations and union environments
- Ability to lead, develop and coach a team
- Working Knowledge of operations, engineering, labor relations, maintenance, regulatory requirements and quality assurance
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, business or another related field is required. Minimum of five years of manufacturing, production or other related experience is required.
