Meals on Wheels Admin Manager – Horizons, A Family Service Alliance

Horizons is seeking a Meals on Wheels Admin Manager to lead the daily operations of our MOW admin, pantry, and driver teams. Reporting to the Director of Community Health & Nutrition, this role oversees the Volunteer, AniMeals, and More than a Meal programs while serving as a key liaison between departmental staff and leadership to keep operations running smoothly.

What you'll do:

  • Lead and supervise Volunteer Coordinators, the Pantry Coordinator, Client Services Associates, the AniMeals Warehouse Coordinator, and MOW Drivers - including recruiting, coaching, training, and performance management
  • Coordinate the More than a Meal program, supporting client wellbeing through assessments related to nutrition, health, safety, and economic security
  • Manage data collection and deliverables that support funding requests and grant writing
  • Build partnerships with volunteers, community organizations, and other nonprofits to better serve clients
  • Cross-train across MOW roles and provide backup coverage as needed, including occasional meal delivery

What you'll bring:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in business, human services, or a related field, plus three years of administrative experience including 1–2 years supervising staff (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database/client management programs
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid Iowa driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation

Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday 7:00 am–3:00 pm, with occasional evening or weekend work for volunteer events, AniMeals packaging and delivery, and special projects. Time is split between Linn and Johnson Counties.
